What is Argireline?
Argireline peptide is a hexapeptide designed to mimic botulinum toxin. This peptide disrupts the stability of SNARE complex and minimizes the fusion of neurotransmitter loaded vesicles with neuronal membranes. As a result, a minimum of neurotransmitters are released into the synapse and muscle contractions are reduced, producing an anti-wrinkle effect.
Argireline, also known as acetyl hexapeptide-3 or acetyl hexapeptide-8, is a synthetic six amino acid peptide used in anti-aging skin care products to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
